UFC Uruguay results: Mike Perry suffers gruesome nose break

UFC Uruguay is in the books and the results are now in. The UFC debuted in the South American country yesterday with an event headlined by a title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche. The latter had defeated the former many years ago, before they were both in the UFC. This time around it was a one-sided affair, in which Shevchenko won every round and cruised to a comfortable decision win.

The biggest talking point, however, was probably the co-main event. Welterweights Vicente Luque and Mike Perry were pitted against each other in a fan friendly match up, that certainly delivered. The two went the distance in a bout that saw Perry suffer a horrifying nose break, bloodying the canvas and colouring the fighters. Luque ended up winning a controversial split decision – discussed by many after the fight.
