Three Bouts Announced For UFC London 2018

Leon Edwards, Paul Craig and Mark Godbeer have had fights announced for UFC London.

Three fights have been announced for UFC London on March 17 and three UK fighters are involved.

The bouts were confirmed today via UFC press release include Leon Roberts, Paul Craig and Mark Godbeer.

Leon “Rocky” Edwards (14-3) will look to secure his fifth straight UFC win in front of a home crowd, as he meets Poland’s Peter Sobotta (17-5-1). With victories over the likes of Albert Tumenov, Vicente Luque and Bryan Barberena on his record, 26-year-old Edwards will be well aware that a win on the night could catapult him into the welterweight division’s top 15.

For Poland-born Sobotta, meanwhile, a win would make it three in a row, cementing his place in the upper echelons of the 170lbs division.

Scottish light heavyweight Paul Craig (9-2) who meets unbeaten Russian prospect Magomed Ankalaev (9-0). Craig, originally from Airdrie in Scotland, will be looking to bounce back from two tough losses, as he takes on another knockout artist in Ankalaev, who joins the UFC roster following three back-to-back KO/TKO wins.

Mark Godbeer (13-3) will also make his return to action on March 17 against a UFC newcomer in Dmitry Poberezhets (24-5-1, 1NC). Godbeer, who was last in action at UFC 217 just last month, will be looking to make it three wins in a row, as he competes inside the Octagon in the English capital for the first time. Poberezhets, meanwhile, will be hoping to make a lasting impression in his UFC debut and, with no less than 12 first round TKO/KO victories on his record, we can expect the Ukrainian powerhouse to be looking for a quick finish with which to upset the English crowd.

Tickets go on sale on Feb. 2. Fans can also register their interest in the event via this link ufc.com/london.
