Report: Jack Hermansson will headline UFC Copenhagen vs “Killa Gorilla”

✅ According to reports the main event for the UFC's debut in Denmark is now set ✅ The streaking Swede is coming off of four straight wins

It won’t be the fight that was asked for, but the main event for UFC Copenhagen now seems set.

Despite Kelvin Gastelum agreeing to fight top ranked, Norway-based Swedish middleweight Jack “The Joker” Hermansson (20-4, #4), schedules unfortunately didn’t align with UFC Copenhagen. Hermansson will now face Jared “The Killa Gorilla” Cannonier (12-4, #9) in the main event at The UFC’s debut in Denmark, September 27th, according to famed MMA manager Malki Kawa.

Note: Neither the UFC or other sources have reported the fight so far.

Cannonier is enjoying a career resurgence, ever since dropping down to middleweight. In  his first UFC middleweight bout he rallied to knock out David Branch in an impressive performance. In his last fight he defeated former middleweight champion and MMA legend Anderson Silva via first round TKO.

Hermansson knocked out Thales Leites last year and followed up submitting Gerald Meerschaert. He then went on to tap out BJJ-black belt David Branch in just 49 seconds. In his last outing, he stepped in on short notice to face Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, and scored a huge upset by earning a clear cut decision victory after five rounds.

The only officially announced bout for UFC Copenhagen so far is a welterweight scrap between Gunnar Nelson and Thiago Alves.
