US president Donald Trump is certainly a divisive, polarising character, and UFC boss Dana White doesn’t care if their friendship rubs MMA fans the wrong way.
It’s no secret that Donald Trump, president of the United States of America, and UFC president Dana White, are close. During the UFC’s humble beginnings, when the company was struggling financially, Trump assisted the company in many ways. Trump is also an outspoken MMA fan, who has followed the sport for a long time. Last year he attended UFC 244, becoming the first US president to attend an MMA event.
In a recent interview with TMZ, White spoke about his friendship with Trump.
“I can’t say it enough. This guy, when I say this guy I’m talking about President Trump … is such a good friend and such a loyal amazing guy. He’s a great guy, been a friend of mine for a long time.”

Last month White was in attendance at a Trump rally in Colorado, and spoke in support of the sitting president. With Trump’s many controversies, the speech garnered a harsh response from some MMA fans, who disliked the open support from White. When asked about this, White was dismissive to say the least.
“I could give a shit,” White said. “I don’t give a shit. If you don’t like me because I’m friends with this guy, that’s your problem, not mine.”While many dislike politics in MMA, White and Trump certainly do have some similar traits, and them being friends is not surprising.
