Conor McGregor Fires Shot At Max Holloway Following UFC 218… Or Does He?
Just when you thought the dust was going to be allowed to settle on UFC 218, Conor McGregor swoops in and gets the world talking again about a possible rematch with Max Holloway.
McGregor took his time, but at 5:04 pm Dublin time this afternoon, the UFC lightweight champion posted this response to Holloway’s win against Jose Aldo last evening.

The photo refers back to when McGregor defeated Holloway back in August 2013 at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston, but it’s not perhaps not what you may think it is at first sight.
Is the Irishman commenting on Holloway’s blackened eyes as a result of their fight? Or is he referring to the sunglasses that he is wearing in the background of the photo?
Whatever the case, it’s got people talking.
That evening in Boston, the Irishman handed Holloway his second loss in a row and left him on the brink of being cut by organization.
Since then, Holloway has torn up the featherweight division with 12 straight wins and now has the fifth longest win streak in UFC history behind only Georges St-Pierre (13), Jon Jones (13) and Demetrious Johnson (13) and Anderson Silva (16) (h/t Mike Bohn)
Talk of a McGregor and Holloway has often been brought up in the last year, but last night at the UFC 218 post-fight press conference, Holloway didn’t seem to think that it would be materialising any time soon.
“Conor is talking about fighting Paulie Malignaggi in MMA. Paulie Malignaggi in MMA. Think about that.”
It appears at least that Holloway has got the attention of “The Notorious” and it sets up the mouth-watering prospect of a champion vs champion clash down the line should both men hold onto their titles.
***Update 5:24 pm Dublin Time ***
Holloway took just 19-minutes to return fire and get the “Blessed” graphics department doing work on a Sunday.
