Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor Official After Making Weight Ahead of UFC 229 (VIDEO)

The most anticipated fight in UFC history is officially a go after Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor made weight on Friday in Las Vegas.

The UFC 229 main event is official for Saturday night in Las Vegas.

In front of a packed room inside the Park MGM on Friday morning both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor made championship weight for their lightweight title fight that will headline the highly anticipated card.

Nurmagomedov, who has struggled with his weight cuts in the past, was actually the first fighter on the scale at 9 a.m. PT as he came in at 155 pounds as he looks to make his first title defense in the UFC.

It was just last year when Nurmagomedov ended up in a hospital due to a brutal weight cut that cancelled his fight against Tony Ferguson. Now with those weight cutting issues behind him, Nurmagomedov looked ready to go after stepping onto the scale for UFC 229

Meanwhile, McGregor was about an hour behind him as came through the weigh-ins at 154.5 pounds in his first fight back in the UFC in nearly two years.

McGregor gave off his signature roar after making weight as the biggest superstar in UFC history looks to reclaim the title he never actually lost in the cage. McGregor was a two-division champion when he last fought in the UFC but he returns following a $100 million payday for boxing Floyd Mayweather last year.

Now McGregor and Nurmagomedov will face off at UFC 229 in what is expected to become the biggest fight and card in the history of the sport.

In the co-main event, Tony Ferguson was also on championship weight despite being in a non-title fight as he makes his return after knee surgery just five months ago. The former interim champion came in at 155 pounds.

As for his opponent, Anthony Pettis was actually the last fighter to step onto the scale on Friday but he came in at 156 pounds and was still 30 minutes ahead of the two-hour cutoff window for weigh-ins.

With that, all of the fighters competing at UFC 229 were on weight and ready to go for Saturday night’s card.
