UFC’s Francis Ngannou Wants Jon Jones Next ‘I Love that Fight!’
Although Dana White suggested that Derrick Lewis will be the next man to challenge Francis Ngannou for the heavyweight title, Francis is still hopeful that it will instead be former lightweight champion Jon Jones!
“The Predator” Ngannou recently won the heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 earlier this year. In the second round, Ngannou got a full hit that floored Miocic and he took home the victory via KO.
In May, UFC President Dana White announced that they are planning a fight between Ngannou and Lewis, which will take place in August and is scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas. It will be a rematch bout that became one of the most uneventful matches in the division’s history.
Both athletes were warned by the referee for inaction and the forthcoming war was a major disappointment that ended in a protracted victory for Lewis. After the fight, however, the two knockout artists have delivered a lot lately and both have collected impressive victories with violent finishes!
Francis Ngannou wants to meet Jon Jones next!
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Ngannou is asked who he most wants to meet between Lewis and Jones. And from Ngannou’s point of view, it’s obvious who he would choose if it was up to him.
– Give me Jon Jones! That’s the fight I want. I do not care what has been said and already planned. I love that match and it’s Jones I’m set to face.
– I have the size and strength required. I’m impressed with Jones’ choice to step up to the heavyweight division. He is very skilled and talented. I respect Jones but it’s time we made up and find out who the better man is!
Before the title bout between Ngannou and Miocic, it was decided that the winner would face Jon Jones. But after the UFC and Jones did not agree on the contract in the negotiations, they are now considering other alternatives.
