UFC Vancouver results: Justin Gaethje KNOCKS OUT “Cowboy” – extends UFC record

Gaethje now has three straight, first-round knockouts after finishing "Cowboy"! The UFC's return to Canada proved an exciting and worth-while one, with many exciting bouts

The UFC returned to Canada last night with UFC on ESPN+ 16, also called UFC Vancouver – now the full results are in. The event delivered entertainment from start to finish, culminating in a violent main event that ended early. Top-ranked lightweights Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and  Justin Gaethje collided in the main event, with the winner inching himself closer to a title shot. In the end it was Gaethje, who after several hard overhand shots, clipped Cerrone, and ended the fight. Gaethje asked for a title shot, facing the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.

“The Irishman (Conor McGregor) is retired. I want a real fighter, I want the winner of Tony and Khabib. I want to fight Khabib before he’s gone, and if Tony wins, nobody is going to miss that fight. We could put a million people in a stadium.”

Gaethje now holds a UFC record as the only fighter to earn a match bonus in every single one of his fights, now with a record of 4-2 in the UFC.

Veteran light heavyweight Glover Teixeira extended his winning streak after defeating dynamic Ukranian Nikita Krylov via decision. He now has three straight wins in the division.

Newcomer Tristan Connelly scored a huge upset as the biggest underdog on the card, beating Michel Pereira via unanimous decision. Misha CIrkunov also scored an impressive submission win over previously undefeated Jimmy Crute. The full results for UFC Vancouver can be found below.
