UFC Shenzhen results: Weili Zhang finishes Jessica Andrade in 42 seconds!

The results for UFC Shenzhen are now in, as hometown favourite Weili Zhang scored a huge knockout win to become the first Chinese UFC champion

The UFC returned to China for UFC Shenzhen, an important event for the promotion’s relation and presence in the region. The event also featured the first ever UFC title fight in China, as strawweight champion Jessica Andrade was set for her first title defence against rising Chinese star Weili Zhang. UFC Shenzhen is now over, and the results are in.

History was made as Chiense challenger Zhang scored an impressive, first round TKO in less than a minute. As Andrade charged forward, Zhang countered perfectly, scoring several elbows and knees in the thai clinch. After dropping a visibly rocked Andrade, Zhang ended the fight and became the first Chinese and Asian UFC champion.

Welterweights Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Li Jingliang put on an exciting show for the fans in the co-main event. Odds favourite dos Santos had a hard time finding the distance and was countered on several occasions but Jingliang, who had crisp boxing and hard shots. With less than ten seconds left of the final round, Jinglinag finished his opponent to the thunderous roar of the hometown crowd.
