UFC 244 Weigh In – Elbow Gate: Kelvin Gastelum tricks the scale?
Kelvin Gastelum faces former title challenger Darren Till in the latter’s first bout at middleweight at UFC 244. While concerns were that Till might have a weight issue the Englishman weighed in at 186 lbs without needing a towel. Gastelum, on the other hand, needed a towel, and may have had help in making weight by leaning on his coach.

In the video above you can see how Gastelum puts his elbow on head coach Rafael Cordeiro, who also lifts his foot somewhat in what is suspected to be an assist as well. It was just revealed that NYSAC are planning disciplinary action against Gastelum ahead of UFC 244. As of now it is not clear just what sort action this is, however a fine is expected. Gastelum will still face Till at UFC 244, but the bout is without a doubt marred with controversy now.
Gastelum enters the bout with a loss behind him. He went five tough rounds with Israel Adesanya in one of he best fights of the year, but lost a decision. Adesanya has since gone on to win the undisputed middleweight title. Till is coming off of two straight losses, a submission loss to former welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal.
