Report: Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes verbally agree to fight at UFC 247
It seems that undefeated Dominick Reyes is next up for UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, according to new reports. It was BJPennn.com’s Chris Taylor who claimed that according to his sources, Jones and Reyes have both agreed to fight at UFC 247. The event is slated to take place in Houston, Texas, on February 8th. As of now the UFC have not yet commented on the reports.

Jones has enjoyed a solid reign as light heavyweight champ since recapturing the title vacant title against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. Following the TKO victory against his old rival, he went on to defend the title against Anthony Smith via unanimous decision. In his latest outing Jones, for the first time in his career, had a fight scored against him. After five rounds with the hard-hitting Thiago Santos, Jones won via split decision at UFC 239.
Reyes ascent through the rankings have been something to behold. Since his UFC debut in 2017 he’s lined up six straight wins in the promotion, all but two via finish. In his ongoing run Reyes has secured wins over Jared Cannonier, Ovince Saint Preux, Volkan Oezdemir and most recently a quick TKO finish of Chris Weidman.
As previously stated, the UFC has not yet confirmed the reports. Stay tuned to MMAnytt for updates on the reported title fight.
