Referee, Judges Set for Cris Cyborg vs. Holly Holm at UFC 219

The Nevada State Athletic Commission determined the officials on Tuesday

Veteran referee Herb Dean will be the third person in the Octagon when Cris “Cyborg” Justino attempts to defend her UFC women’s featherweight title for the first time against Holly Holm at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.

On Tuesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission assigned the referee as well as the judges to oversee the contest that headlines the final UFC card of 2017.

Of course, Dean is one of the most well respected referees in the business, having overseen numerous title fights and main events while officiating over bouts in several states as well as international cards as well.

Derek Cleary, Dave Hagen, and Chris Lee will be the three judges scoring the fight cage side as Cyborg faces Holm in a five round battle on Dec. 30.

Cyborg will look to defend her title for the first time since winning the belt in July when she defeated Tonya Evinger by third round TKO after inaugural champion Germaine de Randamie was stripped of the title when she refused to face the Brazilian.

This will be Holm’s second shot at the belt after she fell to de Randamie in a very close decision earlier this year in her first UFC fight at 145 pounds.
