Paolo Costa calls Israel Adesanya “P***y African” – Then DELETES tweet

As he removed it shortly after, Paulo Costa must have realised that he crossed a line bringing up the heritage of Israel Adesanya in a tweet

Bringing race or ethnicity into trash talk is seldom a good idea. That didn’t stop Paulo Costa from doing so when addressing arch rival Israel Adesanya.

The above mentioned, undefeated middleweights have been on a collision coarse for several months. Costa was even scheduled to challenge Adesnya for the middleweight challenge, but was forced to withdraw due to an injury. There has been tension between the two fighters for a long time, without any relief. Costa, however, may have taken things too far in his latest trash talk.

“Adesanya is afraid, into himself knows,” Costa wrote in a now deleted post. “He try looks good but everybody so skinny and fragile as him fell afraid to fight against powerful guys. Pussy African!”

As of now, both Adesanya and Costa are undefeated in MMA. Both are strikers of a very different variety. Adesanya is more unpredictable and unorthodox, and has a long history of competition in kickboxing and Muay Thai. Costa, however, is an old school knockout artist, swarming his opponents with intense, powerful striking.

Adesanya defeated Anderson Silva and Kelvin Gastelum on his way to the top. He then challenged former middleweight champ Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 and won via second round KO. Meanwhile Costa has knocked out former UFC champ Johny Hendricks, and also defeated Yoel Romero in his most recent outing.
