Francis Ngannou is coming off a successful title defense at UFC 270 this past weekend. While the champion retained his heavyweight title by defeating former training partner Ciryl Gane, the true fight was taking place beyond the Octagon and it continues!

Since his knockout victory over Stipe Miocic in March 2021, when he won the promotion’s heavyweight title, Ngannou has been in a public feud with Dana White and the UFC brass. Ngannou has claimed that he is underpaid and has publicly expressed his desire to challenge WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a boxing ring.

Furthermore, allegedly Francis Ngannou’s team appears to have recently spoken with Jake Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian. Bidarian is the founder and CEO of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, as well as the former Chief Financial Officer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) from 2011 to 2016.

The UFC appears to have learned about Ngannou’s “negotiations” or discussions with the boxing promoter and has filed a lawsuit against him.

The UFC heavyweight champion shared the news on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani this morning, claiming that he was notified by the UFC that he would be sued while he was on his way to the arena to fight Gane. That didn’t stop the 35-year-old, who went on to win an unanimous decision over Ciryl Gane later that night.
