Arnold Allen vs Mads Burnell In The Works For UFC Liverpool

A featherweight scrap between Arnold Allen and Mads Burnell is in the works for May 27

UFC Liverpool is very quickly taking shape and a featherweight bout is set to join the fight card.

Sources close to MMANytt.com have told us that a featherweight bout between Arnold Allen and Mads Burnell is in the works for the fight card set on May 27.

Allen (12-1) is currently riding a five fight win streak and is undefeated under the UFC banner with wins over Alan Omer, Yatozin Meza and Makwan Amirkhani. The Englishman was expected to face Enrique Barzola at UFC 220 in January, but had to pull out of the fight after a mix up meant he want he wasn’t able to secure a visa on short notice. Having now spent over a year away from the Octagon, Allen will now return on May 27 when he faces a fellow European featherweight.

Burnell (9-2) has gone 1-1 in the UFC with a loss to Michel Pazares followed up by a win over Mike Santiago at UFC Fight Night 124. The only thing somewhat blighting the Dane’s first win in the organization was the fact that he missed weight by 4-pounds. Regardless, Brunell ended up winning the fight via unanimous decision and he will no doubt look to continue his winning ways in Liverpool in two months time.

UFC Liverpool is currently as follows:

Stephen Thompson vs. Darren Till
Makwan Amirkhani vs. Jason Knight
Eric Spicely vs. Darren Stewart
Tom Breese vs. Daniel Kelly
Elias Theodorou vs. Trevor Smith
Lina Lansberg vs. Gina Mazany
Arnold Allen vs. Mads Burnell
