Alex Oliveira Steps Into Face Carlos Condit After Matt Brown Suffers Injury

Brazilian welterweight Alex Oliveira is expected to face Carlos Condit at UFC on FOX 29 next weekend.

With Matt Brown out of action due to a torn ACL, Brazilian welterweight Alex Oliveira has stepped into replace him in the co-main event at UFC on FOX 29 against Carlos Condit.

Sources close to the matchup confirmed that verbal agreements are in place for the bout following the injury to Brown over the weekend.

Oliveira returns to action after a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance in his last bout where he went to war with Yancy Medeiros at UFC 218 in Detroit.

As for Condit, he looks to pump the brakes on a three fight skid, which is the longest losing streak he’s experienced during his entire career.

Condit vs. Oliveira will join the UFC on FOX 29 lineup, which already includes a main event showdown between lightweights Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.
