A heavyweight rematch between Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou is currently in the works for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Beijing, China on Nov. 24.

A heavyweight rematch between Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou is currently in the works for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Beijing, China on Nov. 24.

Sources close to the matchup confirmed that verbal agreements are in place from both fighters ahead of the UFC’s return to China. ESPN first reported the matchup on Thursday. The UFC has not made the fight official and bout agreements have not been signed at this time.

Blaydes has been interested in the rematch with Ngannou for quite some time as he continued to rise up the ranks in the UFC’s heavyweight division.

Blaydes has gone undefeated in his past six UFC fights with his lone setback coming in his debut bout against Ngannou back in 2016. Now he’ll get a chance to avenge that defeat when he returns in November.

As for Ngannou, the former UFC title contender is looking to get back on track following two consecutive losses in a row including his bout against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

Ngannou put on a baffling performance in his last outing where he fell to Derrick Lewis in a lackluster three round decision and now the once highly touted heavyweight will attempt to re-enter the title talk conversation with a second win against Blaydes.

Blaydes vs. Ngannou is expected to headline the card in China with more bouts expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
