The medical suspensions, courtesy of MMAjunkie, show Covington has been handed a 180 day layoff, cirka six months. Covington can however be cleared earlier pending the allowance by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Covington went several rounds with a fracture in his jaw, it remains to be seen how he manages to heal up following the fast-paced fight.

Usman also felt the effects of the five round war, as an injury to his left thumb needs to be cleared by a physician to allow the welterweight champion to return earlier. In addition, Viviane Araujo, Alexander Volkanovski, Petr Yan and Geoff Neal all received 180 day suspensions that will require clearance by a physician to avoid the full half year suspension.
