UFC Vegas 105 went down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on April 5, 2025 (April 6 Swedish time). The main event featured a highly anticipated featherweight showdown between knockout artist Josh Emmett and undefeated striker Lerone Murphy from Manchester, England.

Lerone Murphy defeats Josh Emmett in tactical main event

Emmett entered the octagon following a viral knockout win over Bryce Mitchell at UFC 296. Meanwhile, Murphy held an unbeaten record of 15-0-1 and was seen as one of the most precise strikers in the division.

From the first round, Emmett pressed forward looking for heavy shots. Murphy responded with poise, using slick footwork and counterstriking to keep the veteran at bay. He landed cleaner strikes throughout and avoided most of Emmett’s power shots with great timing and movement.

After five competitive rounds, Murphy was awarded a unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 48–47, 48–47, and 49–46 in his favor. With the win, he improved to 16-0-1 and took a major step forward in the featherweight rankings.

“Murphy showed fine technique,” UFC analyst Paul Felder commented during the broadcast. “He stayed calm, used his jab, and never let Emmett dictate the pace.”

Pat Sabatini dominates Joanderson Brito on the ground

The co-main event saw featherweights Pat Sabatini and Joanderson Brito clash in a classic grappler vs striker battle. Sabatini used takedowns and positional control to shut down Brito’s offense throughout all three rounds.

Brito tried to strike early, but Sabatini closed the distance quickly. Once on the ground, he neutralized Brito’s attacks and kept dominant positions. Though he didn’t find a finish, Sabatini’s control was enough to earn a one-sided unanimous decision.

The scorecards read 30–26, 30–26, and 30–27. It was a smart and strategic win for Sabatini, who bounced back after recent setbacks.

Exciting finishes on the main card

Several fighters made statements on the main card with emphatic finishes and breakout performances.

• Chang Ho Lee overwhelmed Cortavious Romious with ground-and-pound and won by second-round TKO.
• Brad Tavares earned a decision win over Gerald Meerschaert in a hard-fought middleweight contest.
• Ode’ Osbourne showcased his speed and power in a second-round TKO against Luis Gurule.
• Torrez Finney edged Robert Valentin via split decision in the card opener.
