MMA Community Rips UFC Fighters ‘”Racist” Comments During the Live Broadcast!

✔ "Dirty f*** Brazilians!" ✔ Gilbert Burns promises a cash bonus to future opponent of Kelley!

Flyweight Andrea Lee lost an unanimous decision against Viviane Araujo during this weekend’s UFC Vegas 54, but it was not their fifteen minutes in the octagon that got the most attention.

Lee vs. Araujo took place during the prelims and offered an exciting fight between the ranked athletes. In the first round, Lee landed both punches and kicks that seemed to put an end to the bout. However, the Brazilian proved difficult to finish and managed to survive the attack. When Lee went to her corner after the first round, she was met by her coach and boyfriend, UFC fighter Tony Kelley.

Lee complained that Araujo had cheated, which led Kelley to make, to say the least, controversial statements about Brazilians during the 1 minute break:

That’s what they’re going to do, they’re dirty f*cking Brazilians, they’re going to f*cking cheat like that

Araujo managed to turn the fight around in the second and third rounds and finally won with the score cards 29-28, 29-27, 29-27. Here is a clip from Lee’s ring corner:

It did not take many seconds before several MMA fighters and fans from all over the world reacted to Kelley’s comments online. Not entirely unexpectedly, the majority were very critical of the UFC bantamweight who has a fight booked against Adrian Yanez on June 18th.

Check out some of the reactions from, among others, top-ranked Gilbert Burns who promised Yanez cash bonus if he finishes Kelley!
