Liam McGeary vs Vadim Nemkov Confirmed For Bellator 194
Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary will take on Russian fighter Vadim Nemkov at Bellator 194 on Feb. 16 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
McGeary (12-2) is coming off the back of a loss to Linton Vassell in May last year at Bellator 179 in London, England when he was defeated in the third round via submission. Prior to that loss, the Englishman had bounced back from losing his title with a win over late replacement opponent Brett McDermott in Belfast, Northern Ireland. McGeary will now be looking to get himself back into the thick of the title talk when he takes on Nemkov on Feb. 16.
Nemkov (8-2) is currently riding a three-fight win streak with victories over Miko?aj Ró?anski, Alison Vicente and Philipe Lins in his Bellator debut last August. The Russian fought across multiple promotions including RIZIN FF, M-1 Global and Fight Nights Global before signing for Bellator in 2017. According to Tapology, Nemkov is a 3-time national and 2014 world combat sambo champion and is a training partner of Fedor Emelianenko. His older, Viktor Nemkov is the current M-1 Light Heavyweight champion.
