KSW Set Up Middleweight Tournament To Determine Mamed Khalidov’s Next Challenger

KSW co-founder Maciej Kawulski says that Mamed Khalidov's next challenger will be determined by a middleweight tournament.

KSW co-founder Maciej Kawulski has revealed that Mamed Khalidov’s next challenger for his KSW middleweight title will be determined by a middleweight tournament.

The 4-man tournament will begin on October 6 at KSW London which will take place at the SSE Wembley Arena.

Kawulski announced the news to Polsat yesterday:

“The next middleweight contender will be determined by mini-tournament, which will begin 6th October in London,” Kawulski said.

“All contestants will perform in London’s event.

“For now we announced two names – (Damian) Janikowski and (Scott) Askham.

“Since we know they won’t face each other, it’s easy to guess that two new names will appear, which will be announced soon.”

The other likely candidates for the tournament appear to be Michal Materla, who won the belt back at 2012, and former light heavyweight title challenger Marcin Wojcik who recently announced he would be moving back down to 185-pounds.

There are currently four names announced for KSW London – Askham, Janikowski, Akop Szostak and Popek Monster have so far been announced for the fight card.
