Following an initial report from MMA-Today, sources close to MMANytt.com have confirmed that ONE Championship heavyweight champion Brandon Vera will defend his title in a champion vs champion clash against Cage Warriors heavyweight champion, Mauro Cerilli.

The Filipino heavyweight has gone 3-0 since leaving the UFC in 2013 with wins over Igor Subora, Paul Cheng and Sekine. Vera will now make his return to the ONE Championship for the first time in nearly two years when he faces the 35-year-old Italian.

Cerilli (12-2) is currently riding a five-fight win streak and is the reigning and defending Cage Warriors heavyweight champion. “The Hammer” won the title back at Cage Warriors 89 in Nov. 2017 when he defeated Nills Van Noord via first round TKO.
