Stipe Miocic Knows How to Beat Power Punchers and Francis Ngannou is Next on the List

Stipe Miocic knows Francis Ngannou is dangerous but he's faced plenty of knockout artists before now

Stipe Miocic isn’t discounting the punching power that Francis Ngannou possesses but it’s nothing he hasn’t seen before.

In the lead up to their fight at UFC 220 this weekend, Miocic has been told time and time again about Ngannou’s knockout power and how he broke records at the UFC Performance Institute for the hardest hit landed on their boxing machine.

As impressive as that might be, Miocic refuses to believe that Ngannou is that much scarier than the laundry list of top ranked heavyweights he’s already faced and defeated throughout his career.

He absolutely respects Ngannou’s power but Miocic is confident that he’s fought knockouts specialists before and this is just another to add to his list.

“You’re telling me Mark Hunt doesn’t hit that hard? Or Roy Nelson? Or Junior dos Santos? Come on,” Miocic said ahead of his fight against Ngannou. “He hits hard and definitely if you get hit squared like that but I’m definitely going to keep my head up, keep my head on a swivel and making sure I’m doing everything right.”

Miocic defeated all three of those fighters he listed including a TKO win against Hunt and a knockout against Dos Santos from his last title defense.

Check out the rest of the interview with Miocic as he addresses the first time he saw Ngannou fight and his expectations for their showdown this weekend and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for plenty more coming during UFC 220 fight week.
